The Association has Specific Committees, which are defined according to members' business activity subsectors. Members get involved in the definition of lines and plans of action by GAIA, by participating in these Specific Committees.

The general goal of the committees is to treat the specific topics in each subsector in an organised and ongoing way, in order to be presented to GAIA's Board of Directors, where appropriate, and to be carried out by its Management Team.

The following goals are identified, amongst others:

• To compile and supply information on training, marketing, quality, management, human resources needs, etc. in the subsector.
• To suggest technological areas and lines of interest in the corresponding subsector.
• To identify innovative technologies and applications to be promoted by GAIA.
• To collect data and subsector statistics and to offer guidance on specific technological surveillance aspects.
• Any specific topic of interest to the subsector and general topic of interest to all the companies in the committees.
